The Revolution Bars Group has submitted an application to open a branch of its Revolucion de Cuba brand in Southend, the town’s newspaper reports. It would be in a former retail unit on Queens Road.

Cote has just opened in Cirencester—its 74th restaurant in all.

Las Iguanas is opening in Basingstoke. It is a conversion of a site previously run by fellow Casual Dining Group brand La Tasca.

Patisserie Valerie has just opened a site at the Glasgow Fort shopping centre. It is its tenth location in Scotland.

Pret a Manger and Byron have both signed up to open at the Southside shopping centre in London. They have each taken sites of around 2,300 square feet, on leases of 15 and 25 years respectively. They join a long list of restaurant brands moving there, including most recently Frankie & Benny’s.

Loungers plans to open a Lounge in Corby, according to the Northamptonshire Telegraph. An application for the opening is now with the local council.

Greene King is starting work on its new-build pub restaurant at Broxden Business Park in Perth, local media report. It secured permission for an opening there last year despite some local opposition.

Pizza Hut is to open its first new restaurant in five years at the White Rose development in Leeds. It should be open there in the second half of next year.

Time Out Market, the popular food hall concept in Lisbon, is set to open a venue in London. It has just appointed Didier Souillat as chief executive of the operation, and hopes to bring it to other cities including New York, Chicago, Miami, Berlin and Paris.

The City Pub Company is taking on the Inn on the Beach on Hayling Island. The deal was brokered by Savills.

The Skinny Kitchen concept from Ibiza is to open its first UK restaurant in Bournemouth. It will launch opposite the town’s Pizza Express in the enxt couple of weeks.

A new Uzbecki restaurant called Samarkand is to open on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia. It has taken on the lease of a site previously occupied by Sam and Eddie Hart’s Fino in a deal brokered by Davis Coffer Lyons. The team behind Samarkand includes Pied a Tierre founder David Moore and consultant Charles Oak.

Spanish and north African tapas concept Morito is to open a second site on Hackney Road. It joins the original Morito on Exmouth Market. The concept was developed by Sam and Sam Clark as a spin-off from their long-established Moro restaurant.
