New Zealand-based hospitality insights platform, Trickle Insights (‘Trickle’), has partnered with global On Premise data and insights leader CGA, adding its extensive data to CGA’s first-class consumer insights analysis across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
Trickle, a data as a service (DaaS) insights platform, tracks product sales data from hundreds of hospitality venues across New Zealand. Trickle’s software takes this data and adds it to an aggregated pool of almost a quarter of a billion dollars’ (and growing) worth of data. In return, Trickle gives venues free real-time visibility of their own performance compared to wider market trends across days, weeks, or months in a way that no other New Zealand industry reports have been able to offer.
Its founder, Adrian Wills, a well-known New Zealand hospitality entrepreneur with extensive experience in point-of-sale, is thrilled to partner with CGA, as the deal signifies real value in Trickle’s continually growing pool of data.
To partner with such an established and global insights organisation like CGA is fantastic, and really paves the way for this data to be used to drive commercially-sound decisions. We’ve worked incredibly hard to acquire a solid footing and real insight into the New Zealand hospitality industry,
and it’s excellent to be recognised for that by CGA through this partnership. We’re also really excited about the opportunity this affords Trickle to continue to expand across New Zealand as well as into Australia and the Pacific Islands.”
“With Trickle, CGA can continue to provide stronger insights to key suppliers and brands in the New Zealand hospitality industry. It immediately saw the value in making Trickle’s unique data part of its portfolio, helping to grow its On Premise offering. We’ll remain focussed on adding more venues to our platform whilst providing greater insights into the hospitality industry for these venues. More data means better decisions – a real game-changer for hospitality venues, brands and suppliers.”
CGA’s managing director for APAC, Graeme Loudon, says, “For too long, the On Premise market has been seen as a black hole, with little visibility of the dynamics which drive sales in this important channel. By partnering with Trickle, CGA can begin to bring these insights to the drinks suppliers who invest in this channel, helping them to profile their share and return on investment in the marketplace, something that has been lacking for a long time.”
